Toot My Own Horn

Well - I'm going to brag on myself for a quick minute. (maybe longer than that) I decided to relocate my desk in the house. Shouldn't be a problem - there's an electrical outlet and phone jack right where I want to move it. Well.....WRONG!!! Here's just what happened...

First off - I had already discovered a week or so ago that the phone jack was not wired properly so I wouldn't be able to use my ethernet cable. Not a problem - my nice handy dandy iMac has built in Wi-Fi so I'm not worried. So I proceeded to successfully move the desk by myself while the family was at softball practice. Get everything plugged in and ready to go and NO WI-FI!!!!! My airport card is gone - missing - disappeared - disintegrated - who knows!!! Talk about frustrating!!! So I "borrow" Knucklehead 1's netbook and start to Google away for the solution. Make many phone calls to my SIL who is also Google'ing away to try and help me find a solution. And NADA - nothing - ain't happening!!! So I give up and go to bed.

Wake up with the bright idea that hey I'll just take my iMac to the genius bar @ Apple and they'll fix me right up. Make my appointment - get there - and to sum it up I need a new airport card or wiring or something. Thankfully I'm still under warranty and this will cost nothing. But there's a catch - they will need my companion, I mean iMac for 3-5 days. Well, I had plans to learn-away on all sorts of photo editing this weekend that there's no way I could be away from my iMac for that long.

So I headed home with the intentions of placing my iMac back where the other ethernet cable is and was going to just work on the floor or storage container or something. A make-shift desk you could say.

But then.....LIGHTBULB....I can wire my phone jack, right? I'm capable, right? Of course - I had already asked my brother briefly about it and what to do so I'm a pro now. Or am I??? Hubby was not thrilled with this idea of me messing with wires, phone stuff, etc. But I was determined (I'm a little stubborn) to solve this problem!!!

Hubby met me outside by the phone box thingy and I directed him on which wires needed to be wired where so that my phone jack would work. WRONG - didn't work. So now his confidence in me is really starting to go. But I can do this I'm thinking. So I continue to analyze all the wiring and move the phone from jack to jack to see which ones are working and which ones aren't. I demand (not really, I asked) him to completely redo the wiring of one specific blue wire that I knew was for this phone jack. By now he's really convinced that I was going to cause us to lose ALL phone access throughout the whole house. But he did it for me and casually said if this works I'm one LUCKY person - I informed him luck was not it at all - INTELLIGENT - was the correct word he was looking for.

So off I go to check the phone jack again and what do you know......IT WORKED!!!!! I'm a GENIUS!!! ;-)

Well, maybe not a genius, but it's good to know that this country girl still has some common sense after a Hubby and 3 Knuckleheads have corrupted my brain. (Just kidding - they are the loves of my life).

But because of my INTELLIGENCE I can now blog and surf the web!

Ha Ha - Goodnight all - and see you at the next blog!

FEAR

Fear - the feeling or condition of being afraid; concern or anxiety (this would be a Mom's definition for sure!!!)

Everyone has it or experiences it - it's how you overcome it that helps define who you are.

Sometimes us Mommas experience this daily, and multiple times a day - that just comes with being a Momma ;-)

Here's some examples:

Knucklehead 1 - he experiences FEAR when he has to accomplish new tasks on his dirtbike.

Knucklehead 2 - she experiences FEAR when things change at school or when someone else gets in trouble in her class (she fears that she too will be in trouble).

Knucklehead 3 - I'm sure he experiences some type of fear.....probably with every new little step he takes! :-)

Momma - me - I experience fear when any of the above 3 do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dad - he's the tough guy - I don't think he fears anything........ ;-)

For now - I have to stop here - but will continue this later.....Adios!
