Has anyone out there really mastered the art of time management? I'm beginning to think not. Or at least not if you are a working momma. I try and I try and I try and still seem to fail at getting everything accomplished. My to-do lists seem to multiply instead of go away. And I have multiple ones.
Laundry is never done - there seems to always be dishes left even after you've washed them all. I swear I can dust only to walk out of the room and back to find it there again. Same goes with the floors - vacuum, sweep - and come back and wonder where that footprint came from.
But my house is comfortable - my house is cozy - my house is lived in - when the ages range from 33 to 28 months and you throw in 3 dogs.....how could it be spotless all the time?
Is there really a way to get it all done? If so - I hope I figure it out. Or I need to figure out how to add more hours to each day or just add another day period. But then that would just be another day that I didn't get it all done. ;-)
At least I can say that I do accomplish getting my family fed and tucked away at night. They might not always have clean socks or underwear folded neatly in their drawers (isn't that what laundry baskets or in my house a chair is for) ;-) but I won't ever stop trying.
My ideal day:
Wake up
Workout
Kids to school and sitter
Go to work
Come home
Cook dinner
Clean kitchen
Housework/laundry
Bathe kids
Kids to bed
Computer time
Snuggle time
I don't think that type of day EVER happens exactly like we want cause LIFE happens. And how precious life is. And oh how I do love my family and friends that are my life.
So until I've mastered the art of time management I'm just gonna keep on a truckin' - keep on livin' - and maybe just maybe I'll have one of those ideal days! ;-)
